Shali Temple

Shali Temple lies atop Shali Tibba. Shali Tibba is in in Shimla District of Himachal Pradesh. The trek starts from Khatnol village and covers a distance of 8 + 8 km [return]. Shali Tibba lies at an altitude of 9,400 feet above sea level.

I visited the Temple during Navratri Festival [year: 2015] and found many pilgrims of all age groups visiting the Temple.

I also found a goat brought for sacrifice; however, it was not sacrificed near the temple. As my visit coincided with Navratri Festival, food was available in route; however the same can't be guaranteed otherwise.
On the way, I found a marble plaque stating that the road was built by Maharaja of Farid Kote in 1936.

However, the 'road' was only a pathway to be covered on foot. At a few places, the pathway was bad.

Wild flowers on the way were a visual delight.

The trek passed through dense Himalayan jungle.

A variety of vegetation was found in route to the Temple.

Towering trees accompanied the pilgrims through the journey.

There were proper steps only when Temple neared.

There was a small shrine outside the Temple.

Somebody had done decoration outside the Temple.

The temple was a simple structure.

The views from top offered panoramic vista.

On the way down from Temple, serai, Temple administrative office, etc. were visible.

The Temple can be visited within a day from Shimla; however, Mashobra is more convenient. It is advisable to carry food and water while visiting the Temple during non-festive days. I could get a cup of tea near temple; however, the same can't be guaranteed during off-season.
