Kamru Nag Temple

Kamru Nag Temple is located at 9,000 ft above sea level.

Rohanda is the nearest village [Mandi District] from where trekkers / devotees have to walk 8 + 8 km. to visit the Temple.

Rohanda is not on the way to major hill stations of Himachal Pradesh. I spent earlier night at Shoja [Kullu District] and travelled for the whole day to reach Rohanda.

My driver, Sohan Sinh, had earlier stayed at Government Guest / Rest House in Rohanda; hence, we went there for staying overnight. However, everything was locked at Government Guest / Rest House; even we could not find a watchman.

There was no other accommodation available at Rohanda. After local enquiries, we were told that there was a hotel a few kilometers away from Rohanda.

We found the hotel on roadside. The hotel was very basic with unplastered walls, dusty and unclean rooms; there were even holes in the outer wall!
The evening was windy and it rained at night. Even in the morning, black clouds dominated the sky. We checked out of hotel and proceeded to Rohanda.

After I started trekking, strong wind was shaking tall Himalayan trees and the noise was frightening. It rained a little.

I started trekking alone and after some time, the weather started clearing up.

The path [above photograph] was misleading and it led me to a dead end. I contacted Sohan Sinh over smart phone and he guided me to the correct path over mobile phone. In the whole process, I walked for nearly 1.5 km extra over and above 8 km [one way] to the Temple!
The trek route was tricky and treacherous. I could see traditional Himachali house made only of stone and wood.

Terraced fields were visible on hill slopes.

I have already placed photographs of flowers [shot during trek] at the beginning of this post.
As I started reaching high altitude, the views of neighbouring hills became spectacular.

The Temple administration had put some boards regarding code of conduct in and around Temple and lake.

Makeshift restaurants were offering basic food and drinks.

Government and Temple accommodation was available on the banks of the lake near Temple. Major part of the lake was covered with vegetation.

The circumabulation of the lake was a well-laid path. A few photographs of the lake are presented below:

Sweep panorama photographs of the lake are presented below:

The Temple was visible from other side of the lake.

A few children requested to take their photograph near Temple:

The temple administration welcomed the tourists / devotees.

The Temple was without walls.

Some devotees had brought goats for sacrifice. The priest sprinkled water and colour on those goats.
The temple administration thanked the tourists / devotees for visit.

The return journey offered great views.

After completing the trek, we travelled to Mashobra [via Tattapani] for night halt.

No tour / trekking firm organizes this trek. I am not aware of bus connectivity to Rohanda. It is advisable to hire a vehicle to undertake this trek. Basic accommodation and food is available at Kamru Nag Temple.
